Meet the Team – Enterprise Architecture:

It is an exciting time at MassMutual! MassMutual is going through a Digital Transformation, continuing to be a leading customer-centric company. The Enterprise Architecture (EA) group has identified the need for a Technical Writer to assist the team in the authoring and editing of technical standards documents and team stakeholder communications. Initially this position will be aligned with the strategic development of an Enterprise Object Model, assisting in the expansion of our API / Event Domain catalog, and helping improve our stakeholders’ communications and overall quality of EA standards documentation.

This position will provide you with the opportunity to build in-depth knowledge of the insurance and financial services business. In this position you will assume a critical role in the development and ongoing maintenance of architecture documents, catalogs, models & communications which have extensive stakeholder visibility.  You will enjoy working with creative teams who truly have a passion for building IT capabilities that have meaningful positive impact on MassMutual business.

Current Initiatives:

• API / Event catalog expansion within Confluence.
• Further development of Enterprise Object Model & Model Artifacts.
• Implementation of new EA artifact type (EA Guidance Document)

Responsibilities:

• Take accountability and ownership for expanding the API/Event Domain catalog with further level 2 / level 3 domain information provided by the EOM product owner. In performing this activity, you should have experience creating Confluence Page templates and linking content across Confluence pages. On an ongoing basis you will have responsibility for maintaining the catalog as new items or needed updates become available.
• Play and active role in maintaining the Enterprise object model by participating in the release management process. This will require merging new release of the ACORD Next Generation Digital Standards, in addition to MassMutual Extensions, into new release of our Enterprise Object Model.
• Serve as editor and publisher for the monthly Enterprise Architecture newsletter.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of Enterprise Architecture operational and process related documentation (playbooks). In performing this activity, you will work with members of the EA team to define internal team processes with the responsibility of creating “playbook” documentation that clearly describes these processes.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of our EA Training curriculum course materials. Serve as editor and contribute to the formatting of content in order to ensure training is as effective as possible, maximizing knowledge transfer, for our community members.
• Ideate and contribute to organization of EA content within our Enterprise Architecture Confluence space. In this activity you would serve a role as content librarian with the responsibility of ensuring content is organized and presented in the most effective way possible making it easy for our community members to consume.
• Participate in peer reviews of draft EA standards (patterns, strategies, etc.) providing input on presentation of the material. Additionally, review the draft standards for grammatical correctness and comment on readability of the material being presented in the standard.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as technical writer, familiarity with writing content from a technology perspective.
• Familiarity with technical concepts pertaining to the data management and the development of API and Streaming Message Technology is desired but is not required.
• 3-5 years of experience of Confluence content creation, building the pages, update the links define the process, provide the content of what’s needed.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills with a high level of energy and an ability to be assertive yet respectful.
• Resourceful, organized, and professional.
• Professional level of the English language.
