Business System Analyst (Optimus)

Department name: Underwriting Tech – OPTIMUS Platform

Key Goal: Define a comprehensive data strategy that ensures consistent reporting capabilities while empowering data-driven underwriting decisions.

Location: Romania (Bucharest or Cluj-Napoca)

The Business Systems Analyst will work from our offices while collaborating with the Global MassMutual teams and provide support in the data underwriting department. The person who will join this role will report to a local manager based in Bucharest or Cluj.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a liaison between business stakeholders’ team, and the technical delivery streams in underwriting.

• Elicit, translate and simplify requirements, decompose high-level business and user requirements into well-written User Stories.

• Active participation in grooming sessions with developers (including those offshore).

• Document and organize acceptance criteria for user stories.

• Analyze and validate business systems data.

• Document technical requirements and business/ technical process flows.

• Active participation and provide support during QA testing and End to end testing with QAs and Program teams.

• Participate in all phases of the development life cycle including requirements gathering and analysis, design, build, test, implementation and continuous service.

• Guide Development teams when needed Work with technical leads, product lead to plan, develop technical scopes of work and manage the execution of projects/product changes in response to requirements from our stakeholders.

• Work with product and project manager(s) to define improvements to business processes, assist decision-makers in gathering information to make decisions, and help quality assurance test solutions.

• Work with the Data Architect, Solution Architect and Product Lead to assist in prioritization and determining business value.

• Be self-supportive in collaborating with peers to effectively deliver a robust solution for the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer or business-related field

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with increasing responsibilities implementing medium and large-scale projects

• Experience with system integration project

• Proven success working across multiple priorities with limited guidance

• Experience working with large data sets and multiple sources of data and mapping

• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team-based environment

• Strong quantitative orientation, analytical skills, and seasoned judgment as well as a high level of intellectual curiosity and tolerance for navigating ambiguity

• Ability to manage own priorities and adapt quickly to changes

• Desire to learn and ability to apply learnings to business issues

• Self-starter with proven ability to organize and direct quality work efforts
