The Scrum Master is the “coach” and facilitator for 2-3 scrum teams, promoting and supporting scrum with a servant leader approach. The Scrum Master facilitates methodology and activities, manages, leads and directs the work efforts of resources that are functionally aligned as part of the scrum team.

MassMutual Romania, with offices in Bucharest and Cluj, was established to build an in-house team with expertise in application development and support, quality assurance and data science to support MassMutual and its affiliates, including Barings, in creating digital products and technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Leads the scrum ceremony meetings for the scrum team and partners with the product owner to lead the team.

• Understand the goals of the product owner and ensure that the scrum team understands them.

• Assist the product owner in arranging the product backlog to maximize value.

• Coach the scrum team in self-organization and help them develop high-value products.

• Remove impediments (issues) to delivery so the team can focus on creating the product.

• Work with other scrum masters to increase the effectiveness of scrum adoption (through the Agile Community of Practice).

• Quality Assurance, ensure that all applicable change requirements are satisfied; Acts as the primary point of contact and integration for the scrum team.

• May provide some business analyst activities.

Requirements
Mandatory

• In depth knowledge of Scrum and Kanban.

• Experience with managing work items in Jira or Azure DevOps.

• Ability to work effectively and efficiently towards goals in an environment with multiple and changing demands.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Self-motivated and have the ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with a minimum degree of supervision.

• Strong technical aptitude.

• Drive out results and address challenges.

Preferred
Experience in the financial services industry or data and reporting projects.

Education and experience:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Scrum Master successfully managing multiple teams in a technical environment

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent
